【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulinthatthejointconfigurationcloselysimulatestheactualjointconfigurationofmanybondedassemblies.Surfacepreparationoftheadherendscanaffecttheapparentshearstrengthoftheadhesiveandcanbeoneofthevariablesunderstudy.Thistestmethodisalsousefulasanin-processqualitycontroltestforlaminatedassemblies.Inpracticethelaminatedassemblyiseithermadeoversizeandtestspecimensremovedfromitorapercentageoftheassembliesaredestructivelytested.Themisuseofstrengthvaluesobtainedfromthistestmethodasdesignallowablestressvaluesforstructuraljointscouldleadtoproductfailure,propertydamage,andhumaninjury.Theapparentshearstrengthofanadhesiveobtainedfromagivensmallsingle-lapspecimenmaydifferfromthatobtainedfromajointmadewithdifferentadherendsorbyadifferentbondingprocess.Thenormalvariationoftemperatureandmoistureintheserviceenvironmentcausestheadherendsandtheadhesivetoswellandshrink.Theadherendsandadhesivearelikelytohavedifferentthermalandmoisturecoefficientsofexpansion.4.3.1Eveninsmallspecimens,short-termenvironmentalchangescaninduceinternalstressesorchemicalchangesintheadhesivethatpermanentlyaffecttheapparentstrengthandothermechanicalpropertiesoftheadhesive.Theproblemofpredictingjointbehaviorinachangingenvironmentisevenmoredifficultifadifferenttypeofadherendisusedinalargerstructuraljointthanwasusedinthesmallspecimen.Theapparentshearstrengthmeasuredwithasingle-lapspecimenisnotsuitablefordeterminingdesignallowablestressesfordesigningstructuraljointsthatdifferinanymannerfromthejointstestedwithoutthoroughanalysisandunderstandingofthejointandadhesivebehaviors.Single-laptestsmaybeusedforcomparingandselectingadhesivesorbondingprocessesforsusceptibilitytofatigueandenvironmentalchanges,butsuchcomparisonsmustbemadewithgreatcautionsincedifferentadhesivesmayresponddifferentlyindifferentjoints.ReviewGuideD4896forfurtherdiscussionofconceptsforinterpretationofadhesive-bondedsingle-lapjointdata.1.1Thistestmethod(Note1)isintendedfordeterminingthecomparativeshearstrengthsofadhesivesinlargeareajointswhentestedonastandardsingle-lap-jointspecimenandunderspecifiedconditionsofpreparationandtesting.Adhesivesresponddifferentlyinsmallversuslargeareajoints(Note2).Note1Whilethistestmethodisintendedforuseinmetal-to-metalapplications,itmaybeusedformeasuringtheshearpropertiesofadhesivesusingplasticadherends,providedconsiderationisgiventothethicknessandrigidityoftheplasticadherends.Doublersorbondedtabsmayberequiredforplasticadherendstopreventbearingfailureintheadherends.Note2Thisvariationcanbeinfluencedbyadhesivedensity,flowcharacteristics,curerate,geltime,carriercomposition,entrappedvolatiles,volatilesreleasedduringcure,etc.andalsobycurecyclevariablesincluding:temperature,time,pressure,riseratetotemperature,cool-downrate,etc.Inadditiontotheprocessingvariablesjointsizechangesthelevelofconstraintontheadhesiveaswellastheinfluenceofinducedtensileloadsattheedgeofthejointduringmechanicalorthermalloading.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityof......
