【摘要】:Cablefillingandfloodingcompoundsarenormallysemi-solidatroomtemperatureandfluidinvaryingdegreesatelevatedtemperatures.Theyarenormallyappliedinaliquidstateandatanelevatedtemperatureduringwireandcablemanufacturing.Thecompletedfinishedwireorcableisexposedtovariousambientconditionsduringitsusefullife.Ifnotcarefullyselected,componentsoffillingorfloodingcompoundshavethepotentialtodegradethematerialstheycontact,shorttermorlongterm.Thefollowingmethodsareintendedtominimizethechancesofsuchproblemsoccurring.Someoftheeffectsthatmightoccurinclude,butarenotlimitedto:4.2.1Delaminationofcoatedmetalshieldsorscreensincompletedwireandcable.Delaminationisprimarilyafunctionofthetesttemperatureandthetypeoflaminantused,sotestresultsareunlikelytovarysignificantlybetweenfillingorfloodingcompoundsofacommonfamily(forexample,petroleumbasedfillingorfloodingcompounds).4.2.2Degradationofphysicalpropertiesofinsulation,jackets,corecoverings,etc.Likelymanifestationsofdegradationofplasticmaterialincludeembrittlementofsomematerialsandexcessivesofteningofothermaterials.Sincethemagnitudeofanygiveneffectwillvary,sometestprocedureswillbemorecriticalthanothers.Itisnot,therefore,intendedthateverylistedprocedurebeperformedwitheverycompatibilitystudy.Performprocedurestotheextentrequiredbyproductspecificationsorasagreeduponbetweentheproducerandthepurchaser.1.1Thesetestmethodsevaluatethecompatibilitybetweencablefillingorcablefloodingcompounds,orboth,andpolyolefinmaterialsusedinthemanufactureofwireandcablethatareusuallyinintimatecontactwiththefillerorfloodant,orboth.1.2Thesetestmethodsareusefultoensurecompatibilityandtoverifythatnewformulationsoffillingorfloodingcompoundswillhavenodeleteriouseffectupontheotherpolyolefinmaterialsbeingusedor,conversely,usethesemethodstoensurethatotherpolyolefinwireandcablematerialsareevaluatedforpossibleusenotdegradedbycontactwithfillersorfloodantsalreadyinuse.1.3Whenevertwosetsofvaluesarepresented,indifferentunits,thevaluesinthefirstsetarethestandard,whilethoseinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.4Thistestmethodisspecificallyforpolyolefincoatingsonaluminumandsteelshieldingandarmoringmaterialusedintelecommunicationswireandcables.1.5Thistestmethodisspecificallyforpolyolefininsulatingmaterialsusedintelecommunicationswiresandcables.1.6Thistestmethodisspecificallyforpolyolefinjacketingmaterialsusedintelecommunicationswiresandcables.
