【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversfinishedsinteredandground(uranium-plutonium)dioxidepelletsforuseinthermalreactors.Itappliestouranium-plutoniumdioxidepelletscontainingplutoniumadditionsupto15%weight.Thisspecificationmaynotcompletelycovertherequirementsforpelletsfabricatedfromweapons-derivedplutonium.1.2Thisspecificationdoesnotinclude(1)provisionsforpreventingcriticalityaccidentsor(2)requirementsforhealthandsafety.Observanceofthisspecificationdoesnotrelievetheuseroftheobligationtobeawareofandconformtoallapplicableinternational,federal,state,andlocalregulationspertainingtopossessing,processing,shipping,orusingsourceorspecialnuclearmaterial.ExamplesofU.S.governmentdocumentsareCodeofFederalRegulationsTitle10,Part50-DomesticLicensingofProductionandUtilizationFacilities;Title10,Part71-PackagingandTransportationofRadioactiveMaterial;andTitle49,Part173-GeneralRequirementsforShipmentsandPackaging.1.3Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetechnicalrequirementsportion,Section4,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
