【摘要】:ThispartofISO14688,togetherwithISO14688-1,establishesthebasicprinciplesfortheidentificationandclassificationofsoilsonthebasisofthosematerialandmasscharacteristicsmostcommonlyusedforsoilsforengineeringpurposes.Therelevantcharacteristicsmayvaryandtherefore,forparticularprojectsormaterials,moredetailedsubdivisionsofthedescriptiveandclassificationtermsmaybeappropriate.IdentificationanddescriptionofsoilarecoveredbyISO14688-1.TheclassificationprinciplesestablishedinthispartofISO14688permitsoilstobegroupedintoclassesofsimilarcompositionandgeotechnicalpropertiesand,withrespecttotheirsuitabilityforgeotechnicalengineeringpurposes,suchas—foundations,—groundimprovements,—roads,—embankments,—dams,and—drainagesystems.ThispartofISO14688isapplicabletonaturalsoilandsimilarman-madematerialinsituandredeposited,butitisnotaclassificationofsoilbyitself.IdentificationanddescriptionofrockarecoveredbyISO14689-1.
