【摘要】:Byfollowingtheproceduresspecifiedinthisguide,anyitemofphysicalevidencewillhaveatraceableaudittrailbywhichtheorigin,pasthistory,treatment,andanalysisoftheitemcanbedetermined.Byfollowingtheseprocedures,thechainofcustodyofanyitemofphysicalevidencewillbemaintainedanddocumented.1.1Thisguidedescribesmethodstobeusedforlabelingphysicalevidencecollectedduringfieldinvestigations;receivedinaforensiclaboratory;orisolated,generated,orpreparedfromitemssubmittedforlaboratoryexamination.1.2Manytypesofphysicalevidencemaybehazardous.Itisassumedthatpersonnelassignedtothecollection,packaging,storing,oranalysisofphysicalevidencewilltakeprecautionsasappropriatetotheevidence.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
