【摘要】:Method8212;Electricalinsulationinservicecanfailasaresultoftracking,erosion,oracombinationofboth,ifexposedtohighrelativehumidityandcontaminationenvironments.Thisisparticularlytrueoforganicinsulationsinoutdoorapplicationswherethesurfaceoftheinsulationbecomescontaminatedbydepositsofmoistureanddirt,forexample,coaldustorsaltspray.Thistestmethodisanacceleratedtestthatsimulatesextremelysevereoutdoorcontamination.ItisbelievedthatthemostsevereconditionslikelytobeencounteredinoutdoorserviceintheUnitedStateswillberelativelymildcomparedtotheconditionsspecifiedinthistestmethod.TestResults8212;Materialscanbeclassifiedbythistestmethodastracking-resistant,tracking-affected,ortracking-susceptible.Theexacttestvaluesforthesecategoriesastheyapplytospecificuseswillbespecifiedintheappropriatematerialspecifications,butguidelinefiguresaresuggestedinNote3.Tracking-resistantmaterials,unlesserosionfailureoccursfirst,canlastmanyhundredsofhours(Note4).Erosion,thoughitcanprogresslaterally,generallyresultsinafailureperpendiculartothespecimensurface.Therefore,onlyspecimensofthesamenominalthicknesscanbecomparedforresistancetotracking-inducederosion.Theextentoferosioncanbeestimatedfrommeasurementsofthedepthofpenetrationoftheerosion.Materialsthatarenottracking-susceptiblecanbeplacedinthreebroadcategorieserosion-resistant,erosion-affected,anderosion-susceptible.Whenthestandardthicknessspecimenistested,thefollowingtimestofailuretypifythecategories(Note5):1.1Thistestmethodisintendedtodifferentiatesolidelectricalinsulatingmaterialswithrespecttotheirresistancetotheactionofelectricarcsproducedbyconductionthroughsurfacefilmsofaspecifiedcontaminantcontainingmoisture.TestMethodsandD2303mayalsobeusedtoevaluatematerials.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsarethestandard,exceptincaseswhereSIunitsaremoreappropriate.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin12.4.Note18212;ThereisnoequivalentISOstandard.
